Real Wedding with Splendid DIY

I have to admit, I’m not a fan of DIY Weddings. They often lead to much stress and look a little too on the homespun end for me. Rachel’s wedding though is an exception!  As a professional makeup artist in the industry, she was able to pull off a clear motif. Each and every one of her DIY pieces tell as story and bring her wedding day together full circle.  For this expert do-it-yourselfer our seamstress changed her dress neckline and added a custom keyhole. So not only was her wedding truly unique, her wedding dress was a one-of-a-kind.

Sarah:It was Perfect

Sarah:Exciting

SB:What was your something blue?

Sarah:Was my shoes, they were navy blue high heeled silk shoes, they were my favorite part

SB: What was your something old?

Sarah: Bracelet, It was my grandmothers. My dad’s mom died when I was a little girl so it meant a lot.

SB: Your Wedding dress inspiration, did it come from magazines, social media, or celebrities?

Sarah: I really liked the lace from my moms and grandmothers dress, I wanted something different.

SB:Did you end up buying the type of wedding dress you thought you wanted when you first began shopping?

Sarah: In a round about way yes, I started looking and then got confused in the middle and came back in the end.

SB: Any tips you can share for future brides?

Sarah: The biggest thing would be the wedding you end up with may not be the one you started out planning, but if you are married to your husband at the end of the day that’s all that matters
